Here's an update on the various kits that are current in the AmQRP.

PIC-EL (http://www.amqrp.org/elmer160/board) -- We've resumed filling
orders, now that new boards have started arriving from the fab shop. 33
went out the door yesterday and the remaining 100-or-so are planned to ship
this coming week when additional boards wind their way to the home of our
kitting team (W8KOX and NJ8B). All new orders are shipping with the new
right-angle J6 connector (that holds the optional DDS Daughtercard), *and* a
new type of display because the source of small 1x8 LCDs dried up and we
found a nice 1x16 LCD that works well. It sticks out a bit over the right
side of the board but it ultimately provides even greater utility in the
long run. I'll post a photo on the project page tomorrow.

PIC-EL J6 Connectors (http://www.amqrp.org/elmer160/board/j6.html) -- As
mentioned, the new right-angle connectors are shipping now, also to those
who ordered it separately. Everyone should have their J6 in the mailbox
this coming week.

ELSIE (http://www.amqrp.org/kits/elsie) -- All of these kits, to both
Atlanticon-goers as well as to those just ordering the kit, will be placed
into the mail on Monday. We just received the pcb material (hard to come by
in quantity these days), and the assembly/operating manual (copy to be
placed onto the project web page tomorrow), and the kitting team of N0YMV
are in the process of finishing off the parts sorting and bag sealing.

SERIAL DDS CONTROLLER (http://www.amqrp.org/projects/serialDDS) -- I was
called away for business this past week-or-so and it interrupted my placing
the kits into the mail. The great news about this is that the software guru
on the project, Dave Ek NK0E, was able to use the extra time to his benefit
and he got almost all the functions operational. Man, this is one very cool
project! Not only can you set the frequency of the DDS Daughtercard from
your PC terminal program, but you can now set the scan frequencies (start,
stop and step) and start the scan! All settings are now saved in EEPROM
such that when you power up the unit again the frequencies are just as you
set previously them. I'm loving the project on my own bench. All orders
will be shipped on Monday morning.

MS-DDS CONTROLLER (http://www.amqrp.org/kits/ms-dds) -- We received the
pcb's this past Friday as planned and all kits are now packed and ready to
go. The boards look *fabulous*! All orders will ship on Monday.

MICRO908 ANTENNA ANALYZER (http://www.amqrp.org/kits/micro908) -- N2CX and I
have fallen behind and have been in the process of notifying all those who
reserved that we'll need another couple of months before we can ship. We
have been making good progress though - enough to feel good about publishing
the official price list. As you'll see tomorrow on the project web page, we
were able to keep the price of the Basic Kit at the low end of our forecast.

DDS DAUGHTERCARD (http://www.njqrp.org/dds) -- We're at the end of our
current stock of kits and are in the process of kitting up yet *another*
round of these incredibly popular signal source daughtercards! We already
have the new batch of pc boards in hand so it won't be more that a couple
week interruption to the regular flow of DDS Daughtercard kits that are
packed and shipped by the tireless W8KOX+NJ8B kitting team. So if you
currently have DDS order outstanding with us, it will be another couple
weeks before you see it in the mailbox. But rest assured that it's coming,
so get your free AD9850 DDS chip on order from Analog Devices.

Because of my 10 days of travel, I have not been able to process new
incoming orders or to post them to the various "order status pages". I am
catching up this weekend and will have all the orders status web pages
current by tomorrow night, so *please* have patience and the confidence that
we're working to take care of you guys. Also, because of the overhead and
volume of orders, we're no longer able to acknowledge each and every
individual order placed with us. We get the very same order confirmation
email from PayPal that you receive, so again rest assured that your order
got through and will be processed. Thanks for understanding the limited
bandwidth on my personal time.

PS: *Please* use my alias address of n2apb@amqrp.org for any/all
communication with me. Even though my local ISP address is displayed in the
email headers, it has recently changed again, so by bookmarking and USING my
n2apb@amqrp.org address you don't have to worry about my other strange
addresses that change from time to time. Otherwise, there's a good chance I
will not get your emails. Thanks.
