MANAGING MULTIPLE MAIL ACCOUNTS For users having more than one email account (e.g., Lehigh mail and another Internet Service Provider mail account such as Fastnet), there are several ways to access them from Netscape. One way is to forward mail from one mail account to the other. To do this, see (http://www.lehigh.edu/account). With this option, all of your mail will appear in one account. Others can email you at either address, but mail you send out will have the address of the account that you are logging into and using. Users who wish to manage their mail accounts separately can set up two profiles using the Netscape Profile Manager. Two profiles are required, one for Lehigh and one for the ISP. Visit http://www.lehigh.edu/~inhelp/faq/qa/profilesetup.htm for detailed instructions about how to create two profiles. LIVE ONLINE SERVICE: A REFERENCE DESK ON THE LIBRARY WEB Over the summer, Lehigh's librarians will introduce Live Online Reference Service using software from InstantService.com. The new service will provide live real time digital reference services for students, faculty, and staff. Through the web-based software, librarians can converse with users about questions via text chat and send web pages to their computers. Users are emailed a transcript of their session. The service, to be tested over the summer, is available Monday through Thursday, 1:00 to 7:00 PM and Friday 1:00-5:00 PM. To access the Live Online Reference Service click on the Lehigh Reference icon found on the Library Services http://www.lehigh.edu/library/library.html, Infodome Research Advisor http://www.lehigh.edu/library/infodome/, and Databases http://www.lehigh.edu/~inref/databases/index.html pages. The icon is active only when the service is staffed. The service targets questions about library services, databases, electronic resources, web searches and advice on beginning research. Referrals will be made for in-depth research consultations. Available to on and off campus users, this service will be especially helpful to remote users who may not have a second phone line to call for library reference assistance. PLANNING A CONFERENCE OR WORKSHOP? CALL IR ABOUT EMAIL/INTERNET ACCESS FOR PARTICIPANTS! During the summer Lehigh hosts many conferences and workshops, bringing in faculty and specialists from around the country and the world.
