Tonight is the first night I have received any AT posts in a while. Evidently the server has been down or I am just not getting them. I also have a problem with the NO CONTEST qso's for the AT awards. I try to work the stations as I can and have been listening on several occasions and worked a few, and then missed others. I feel that with the time spent trying to work them, and then find out that a particular contact would not count defeats the whole purpose of getting on the air to start with. If the contests are a problem, then, maybe we need to cancel all the contests so that some of us can make all the contacts. Of course, this idea is ridiculous and therefore I feel some reconsideration should be made as to when the contacts can count. I for one, when it comes time to go to the trail, hope that if I go and pick a weekend when I have time to go, that there are no contests scheduled. I have to drive four hours to get to the AT and if this rule stands I feel I might have to lose interest in this attempt. It would be a futile effort and a waste of good radio time, in addition to the hiking purpose. At least a couple of us are not getting posts from the AT-List. Is anyone else? The posts are showing up on the archive http://listserv.lehigh.edu/lists/archives/atrail-l/ but are they going anyplace else? My posts at the archive site don't seem to be sent to the list either so I am trying this message to the list address to see what happens. Peter Lascell, W4WWQ plascell@inmind.net Forest, VA
