I got an earlier start this morning then I thought I would. got on the air about 11:00 eastern so I got in an extra hour of operating. I picked up a AT thru hiker near elkton and took him up the mountain. He was headed south. Get day for backpacking. Was about 63 deg on the mountain. Wish I could have stayed all day and hiked but had to be back for the church Christmas/Thankgiving dinner this evening. 20 M was great. 40 was dead. My modified W3FF walking dipole works great on 20M. I made the following contacts from Pinefield Gap..
