Thanks for the example, I needed to make it look like :

jdbc:sqlserver://  I was missing the // at the end. My login failed, but
that is another issue.

Hello Steve,

no, you should be able to connect through the network. But you need a
driver that matches the MS SQL Server version you are using.

If its not working I guess that the JDBC URL is somehow incorrect.
There might be a semicolon at the wrong place or something little like
that, carefully check the URL. Please see here for examples and
