Phil,
It was probably back in the mid 1980's that we came in from Parramatta, I was with National Insurance.
Yes a genuine Irma , we had to import it from the States (ALPINE.COM)
Also got an Attachmate coax and a Madge CAU & LAM
This is for the DR site so if anything gets locked up at least (if alive), or, the Operators have an issue I could have a look at the console from home.

( yes we have met!) ...
Is it actually an real IRMA card or an IBM 3270 emulation adapter.
(I must confess I did not think they made Irma cards anymore).
We used to run pcs with both 3270 via tcpip(+Ethernet card of course), and also the (IBM) 3270 card via co-ax.
We had some users who thought they were so important they did not want to loose all mainframe access if we had tcpip or
lan problems...
No in-principle problem with doing this.

I want to have a PC that is lan attached so that I can remote control
it , and, to be coax attached to the 3174-01L and thus be the console.
Our PC people are so young that they have never had to deal with a coax
card.
He has loaded the latest code for an IRMA card , but this seems to have
disabled the Ethernet port.
Any thoughts as to what happens next.
