Hello Dave,

Along with what Phil and Sid said.  Check to make sure that the 
Port you are connecting to is set up correctly too.

We had everything correct on the z890 side and the network guys moved us
to a different port that was half duplex auto.

Ran like s**t, and we knew something was wrong right away.

You both may be on to something.  It appears the card(s) are set to half
duplex auto negotiate.

Now to figure out how to change them, and if a POR is required, or just
a config off/on...
