I did. It didn't work. Should it or did I do something wrong, as usual.

Sounds like it may work. Try it.

I am just starting to test IP printing and have the same problem. Is it
possible to do an INACT in the 3270E server for the printer, start
another
server with the same printer id and the correct IP address and then
REACT
the printer in the second server?

Julian,

I don't think you can do this on the fly.

I have the need to change the IP address of a printer defined as DIRECT
XX11 BSTTVNET 10.85.8 .23 9100 to a differect IP address on the fly. Is
there a way to do this without stopping my TN3270E Server? I have tried

INACT XX11 on the Server and then a new DIRECT XX11 BSTTVNET 10.85.9.10
9100. It gave me a error as invalid command..
