Chris Check the available partition 31bit getvis and check the EDSALIMIT . It may be as simple as using cemt to change the EDSALIMIT. Our Debug tool cics partitions have a EDSALIMIT set to 68MEG Eric -----Original Message----- From: owner-vse-l@Lehigh.EDU [mailto:owner-vse-l@Lehigh.EDU]On Behalf Of Chris Behrends Sent: Monday, July 14, 2008 3:23 PM To: VSE Discussion List Subject: Problems using IBM Debug Tool with CICS We have been using the IBM Debug tool for several years now to debug batch applications. Last week we tried to set it up to debug CICS applications. I tested with the default IVPCOB3 program and also compiled a small test program and was able to test both using the debugger and view the source listings. The problem occurs when I try to test our actual production CICS programs. Once I hit a program I have setup for debugging, CICS goes short on storage above the line and after a few minutes the debugger screen appears but with no source listing and will not allow you to do anything except exit. This is a test CICS partition and I am the only one doing anything in there and there is currently 55 MB of storage allocated. All of my programs are compiled above the line. I was reading something on the IBM website that for Z/OS it may take as much as 132 MB to work. Is anyone out there using the IBM Debug tool for CICS applications and if so, how much storage do you have defined? I would prefer to use one of the better 3rd party tools but unfortunately that is not in our budget at this time.
