Hello Ronald,
There is no counter part.
Symmetrix does have an Open Platform tool
1) that you will need to purchase
2) and then you will need to have VSE send the proper commands to have the OP Tool issue the commands.
3) VSE would then have to wait long enough to ensure that the command has been completed or have manual process to ensure that the command has been successful.
We have migrated off the Symmetrix to the IBM DS6800.

Subject: Mainframe Snap Facility for EMC Symmetrix
Hi to all,
Does anyone know the counterpart of IXFP/SnapShot (IBM Shark) for EMC Symmetrix? Which can also be ran under VSE?
Thanks,
ronald
