Check out the VSAM Redirector that's provided with zVSE. This will permit a batch application to access the SQL database like it were a VSAM file. Also, VIaSQL from Viaserv has this capability in either by an API or VSAAM redirection. GTSoftware also offers a solution of this nature but I am unsure as to it's full capabilities. _____ From: owner-vse-l@Lehigh.EDU [mailto:owner-vse-l@Lehigh.EDU] On Behalf Of Joan Gerads Sent: Thursday, May 29, 2008 12:25 PM To: VSE Discussion List Subject: z/VSE communicating with SQL Server? We are currently running z/VSE 3.1.2 under z/VM 5.2 on an IBM z9. We are curious to know if anybody has been successful at implementing a middleware solution that provides communication from z/VSE to SQL Server 2005? We want batch programs running on z/VSE to be able to read SQL files stored on the SQL Server 2005 Thank you in advance.
