Since I wrote the VSAMCAT driver, I recommend it! ;)
 
But in all fairness, if you have a number of files that you want to have exacting control with security, then I suppose that defining them individually might be better for those who don't want to write their own security exit. But if you use a generic security that works for the general definitions, defining the few with specific needs would also work.
 
Otherwise, just keep doing what you're doing. Don't drive yourself crazy with all of that work!
