The basic reason we do a cold start is to ensure that the CICS log doesn't need to swap, also need to do cold start if readonly CICS was running prior uses same rsd
So is a warm start OK with the CICS logs reformatted by DFHJCJFP

Yep, you want to do something similar to what I'm doing -- and cut down the number of EXEC DFHSIP to a single statement using the EXEC PARM.
