HMC says online. VM says the CHPID is physically available. The SET RDEV did not fix it either. We are to the backup step but the tape drive is offline. I tried "vary on path 71 to b10" and get a path not operational. A "query path b10" comes back: Device B10 status OFFLINE Chpids to device... 71 Physically available + Online - I set the CHPID offline in VSE and rebooted the controller, tried vary on but that did not seem to help. I can share Escon attached tape between LPARS, correct? What do I need to do to get VM to bring this path online?
