One of the disadvantages of the EXEC TCP interface is that sometimes a recompile is needed due to version changes. One of the advantages of using EZA calls in your COBOL program is that recompiles are not needed when the underlaying TCP/IP product changes. This thread suggests that it might be a good time to think about converting from EXEC TCP to EZA. For years, BSI has helped it's customers convert from EXEC TCP to EZA by providing a conversion REXX (BSTTPREP) as part of our TCP/IP product. We now offer that same conversion tool to non-customers via my web site http://www.vse2pdf.com/coolstuff BSTTPREP runs in either VSE or CMS. It is designed as a one-time conversion program, not as a 'every time it compiles' program. It is expected that the output (the new version of the original program) will be examined for warning messages and any warnings resolved before the program is compiled the first time. If you have any questions or issues with BSTTPREP, contact me directly as I am the original author. Tony Thigpen
