I doubt that anything can be done about assembler phases, since the
output is completely under the control of the programmer.  But, I know
the COBOL phases/objects have identifying information including the
compile date and time.

Thanks for your reply. We want to be able to verify what release of the
compiler or assembler was used for each module in a phase. Also when
they were compiled/assembled.

I know what AMBLIST does all I can suggest is to phrase a requirement 
for a beast like this (maybe direct, maybe via the upcoming WAVV).

Why don't you tell us what the goal is that you wish to achieve- maybe 
there is help.
