We offload to an EPIC controlled tape.  I think we have a 1 year
retention on it.

I'm not a big fan of uncontrolled tapes with hand-written labels on
them.  Even our VM and Linux backups go to EPIC controlled tapes now
(via DR. D).

When I started here 3 years ago, I think only the data base backups and
logs were on EPIC.  It seems to be working much better and the
operations supervisor is much happier this way.....
