Hello David, I don't quite understand what you are trying to do. You do a VTAPE START on file EFTEST1 (VTAPE START,UNIT=3D6C0,LOC=3DVSAM,FILE=3D'EFTEST1') and then do an IDCAMS backup of all files to tape file EFTEST1 to the VTAPE ? If thats what you want to do, you need a TLBL for EFTEST1. The IDCAMS STDLABEL statement specifies a TLBL, not to be confused with the DLBL you use for VTAPE START. If I were you, I would use different names for the tape image (ESDS VSAM Cluster) and the file on the tape.
