A few notes relative to the new list.

1. Services except for transmitting and receiving messages will be few
until we can try and test each one on the majordomo system. So do not
expect to be able to get a list of subscribers divided by call areas very
soon. As well, the digest option may be delayed.

Reason: these features were developed at Lehigh using LISTPROC 7 and 8 over
a period of time from another list--the QRP-L group. So we never
experienced the development and testing time. Digest is a different matter
and perhaps that can come sooner.

2. The web site will undergo a change in directions for the mail list in
the near future.

3. If you subscribe via a remote address (for example, using aqn arrl.net
address, it will have to be approved by me, and I check the list for these
once per day. so do not panic if there is a delay between subscribing and
getting mail via the arrl.net address.

4. The code of conduct has not changed. The BoD does not care how
objectionable someone's comments might be--replies to the list directed at
an individual are never in order. If objectionable comments occur, tell me,
and the situation will be evaluated on behalf of 10-10. However, remember
that replies directed at an individual but sent to the list are as
objectionable as the original message to which one is replying. And the
chorus of "amens" and their equivalent is equally objectional in terms of
the code of conduct.

The tentenlist is for the exchange of information/Q&A/etc. Courtesy and
mutual respect are always in order.

Let's end the donut test (and any other such tests) of how far the rules or
my patience will go. I was specifically requested to remain at this post by
many people, most of whom even said "please." (One said, "How dare you. .
..") If you want a new webmaster/listmonitor, please simply direct a message
to the BoD or the President of 10-10. To the best of my knowledge, the only
donuts relevant to 10-10 and 10 meters are powdered iron and ferrite
toroidal coil forms, and they are general fatal if swallowed. They are
neither krispy nor dunkable.
