Yes there was a real Rufus Burris and he held an important position in the Truman Administration and afterward

It really is interesting the lefts constant condemnation of McCarthy for he was looking for the communists and he failed to completely look in the Hollywood area and find and expose those.
Yes I will grant Hollywood had a few like Andy Griffith and some others that were blacklisted for a few years and they succeeded in branding McCarthy as the villain. With the unsealing of those period records many are discovering history needs to be rewritten.
