Hello, My name is Ed Bryant and I am new to this list. I think I subscribed several years back but am not sure. I have been a diabetic for over 50 years and have experience some of the ramifications. For example, I had a kidney transplant on August 9th 1983 and 26 years later it is doing just great. If you are interested in transplantation you might read the article titled INSULIN-FREE: PANCREAS AND ISLET TRANSPLANTATION TO TREAT TYPE 1 DIABETES which appeared in the Winter 1995 edition of the Voice of the Diabetic. It was writing by David Sutherland, MD, PhD. Who is world renowned in pancreas transplantation issues. Just go to the NFB website at www.nfb.org and enter Voice in the search engine. Scroll down the page and click see all Voice Issues. Then click Winter 1995 edition. Once again the article is called INSULIN-FREE: PANCREAS AND ISLET TRANSPLANTATION TO TREAT TYPE 1 DIABETES. Have a great day! Best Regards, Ed Bryant
