Helen, he wants me to take 50,000 units of ergocalciferol once a week, to be exact.
 
So, you are having your surgery, this Friday, for sure?  What exactly are they going to do to you and how long will you have to stay in the hospital?

OTC Vitamin D comes in 2000 units, and 25 pills spread out over a week's time is doable.

However, I have analog Vitamin D, prescription strength, for my hypoparathyroidism.  If what the doctor wants for you is calcitriol or ergocalciferol, let me know and I will send four pills.  I have several packages I would like to get out before the surgery on Friday and can add this to the group.
